This paper aims to bring some suggestions for efficiently operating government-owned logistics centres of Turkey. The scope of this research is to conduct a literature review in order to define the role of logistics centres and then to define the fundamental characteristics of ideal logistics centres. In this context, this study assesses the major issues that hinder the efficient operation of facilities under the control of government operating logistics centres like the Turkoglu Logistics Centre in Kahramanmaras. Later on, long-term and sustainable solutions to these issues are attempted. As a result, the study's main contribution is presenting a newly developed business model proposal for the efficient operation of government-owned logistics centres in Anatolian cities.
